
In its Communication of 5 July 2016 the European Commission announces the launch of a public-private partnership on cybersecurity and additional market-oriented policy measures to boost industrial capabilities in Europe.
The communication entitled "Strengthening Europe's Cyber Resilience System and Fostering a Competitive and Innovative Cybersecurity Industry" marks the agreement signed with industry on cybersecurity and steps up efforts to tackle cyber-threats.
The new public-private partnership on cybersecurity launched is expected to trigger €1.8 billion of investment by 2020. This is part of a series of new initiatives to better equip Europe against cyber-attacks and to strengthen the competitiveness of its cybersecurity sector.
