ICT2015 Session: Key challenges in end-to-end privacy/security in untrusted environments, 22 October, Lisbon

Date:
Thursday, 22 October, 2015 - 00:00 CET

This session, supported by H2020 projects WITDOM, TREDISEC, PRISMACLOUD and WISER will motivate discussion and widen the circle of stakeholders dealing with current challenges in both security and end-users´ privacy when outsourcing data to the cloud.

According to IDC consulting It´s expected that over the next 5 years cloud services will grow at CAGR of 14% in European Union, however cloud security is still the main barrier for a faster adoption. The survey conducted by KPMG about IT Cloud Services in December 2014 noted that 53% of their survey respondents (more than 500 global business executives including CEOs, CIOs and CFOs—from organisations with annual revenues between $100 million and $20+ billion) face data loss and privacy risks as the most significant challenges of doing business in the cloud, followed by intellectual property theft.

Discussions will focus on the benefits and possibilities of identified scenarios where multiple functional and non-functional requirements must be met simultaneously, and how we can develop specific solutions for a range of cloud security casuistry that satisfy all desired requirements.
