The Cyber Security Challenge UK is a government-backed scheme aimed at filling the cyber security skills gap by recruiting young people with cyber talent.
Now in its sixth edition, the challenge has launched Cyphinx, a virtual 3D skyscraper that combines on-access games and competitions reflecting real world skills used by cyber security professionals on a daily basis.
Candidates can create avatars, enter the Cyphinx skyscraper, interact with other candidates, and engage with potential employers. Their mission?
To tackle cyber security-related challenges such as risk analysis, forensic analysis,network defence and ethics.
Cyphinx also offers candidates the possibility to create their own digital CV in the process.
According to the Digital Economy minister Ed Vaizey, “Government is committed to encouraging young people to consider cyber security as a career, and this new 'virtual world', developed by the Cyber Security Challenge, will help ensure the UK develops the cyber experts of the future.”
